Ms. Cervantes works as a Staff Attorney advocating for primarily indigent clientele at Prairie State Legal Services in Moline, Illinois, where she assists clientele in securing safe, stable and fair housing, and representing clients in appeals and proceedings involving Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Shannon is also an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University of Chicago’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies where she occasionally teaches writing-intensive introductory English courses for returning students.
Shannon is a 2022 graduate of Northern Illinois University Law School, magna cum laude, and during law school, she served as a Volunteer Intern in the Office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, Western Division, in Rockford Illinois. Before embarking on a legal career, she served as a Navy linguist.
