Recent Changes to Moline Divorce Laws

In this article, our Moline family law attorneys explain the recent changes to Moline child support laws beginning in 2016. In an attempt to modernize the language of Illinois divorce law to include modern language, irreconcilable differences will now be the only grounds for divorce in Moline.  Previously, parties in a Moline divorce matter could list irreconcilable differences or one of the several specific statutory grounds when filing for a divorce.  

However, irreconcilable differences formerly required a time of living separate and apart than specific grounds (2 years).  Now, the time of living separate and apart is 6 months and can be waived if both parties agree.
