Mark Hitt originally hails from Denver, Colorado. He attended and graduated from Elmhurst College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and where he met and married his college sweetheart, Jackie. He attended DePaul University College of Law, where his focus was on trial advocacy, criminal law, and international law.
Upon passing the bar, Mark began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, eventually trying hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, from traffic cases to multiple murders. He then worked for the City of Chicago, supervising a team of ten investigators, who responded to claims of physical abuse and racial bias by members of the Chicago Police Department, as well as responding to and investigating police-involved shootings. He has been a criminal defense and family law attorney for the last two years.
Mark has courtroom experience in many aspects of civil and administrative litigation as well, in personal injury, family, and chancery cases. He currently lives with his wife, three children, mother-in-law, and his “obese Maltese”, Chowder.
