The Quad Cities Probate Process

When opening a probate estate in the Quad Cities, the executor's attorney must file several documents to the probate court:

  • Petition to Admit Will to Probate and for Letters of Office
  • Affidavit of Heirship
  • Affidavit as to Copy of Will
  • Oath of Office
  • Surety Bond or Non-Surety Bond
  • Notice to Heirs and Legatees
  • Publication Notice

In this article, our Quad Cities probate attorneys discuss the steps necessary for all parties involved in an estates' probate process. If a probate matter is required, an attorney must take the proper steps to administer the estate and if there was a will involved, the probate process is somewhat different than without one.
